They grow up so fast!

Liam started "school" this week. It's just 2 days a week for four hours, but it still makes me realize how quickly the last 16 months have gone by. I can't believe he's big enough to be going already.

Emma also started dancing this week. She is taking at the same place that I took from age 3-18, so it's been really fun to have her start. She won't really tell me anything they've done, though. She says it's all a secret?

I just can't believe how quickly time seems to be going by.

Look out for the jelly beans!

We had an incredible week at the beach! Some very gracious friends allowed us to use their beach house on Jekyll Island. We had our own pool..which was wonderful. With kids I can't even imagine a trip without a pool somewhere nearby.
We were able to visit with family that lives in Brunswick and Mama and Papa came down for 2 nights.

As always, it was just so nice to get away and relax and be together.

Some of my favorite highlights from the trip:
-Watching Liam roll around in the sand
-Emma chasing birds
-Being lazy
-Hanging out with Uncle Rachel and Aunt Austin (as emma calls them)
-Watching out for jellybeans (aka jellyfish)
-Looking at the dolphins
-"Mommy, you need to leave. I need some prisaby"..emma telling me she needs privacy
-eating lots of good food
-watching Papa play with emma and liam in the water
-actually have a blast playing in the sand with emma and liam
-just being together!

ok..no more toenails

I didn't want everyone to have to look at my toenails every time they open up my blog (sorry, i just had to share them). So, here's a new post just to let you open up to something else.

we just got back from a week at the beach..so i'll be posting more photos from that soon.

Toenails are for sissies!!

Well, I've officially lost my first toenail because of running. I'm not sure if I should feel proud or not. Mostly, I'm just trying to not feel sick when I'm looking at my own feet...especially knowing that I'm probably going to lose more.

I'm still not fully "in love" with this running thing. I do feel great after finishing a 20-mile run, but I don't crave it like some people do. It would still be really easy for me to just sit on the couch instead of getting in bed for an early run or just taking a nap while my kids are asleep. I'm still hoping that a true love for running will develop.

I guess for now I'll just settle for knowing that I'm trying to be more healthy, teaching my kids that exercise is important (especially since everytime I'm sweaty Emma says "you've been running mommy?") and feeling pretty darn proud when I tell someone that I've run 20 miles by 8:30 in the morning and they're just getting out of bed.

Baby Buddha!

Some of our good friends, Jana and Jason, came down last weekend for a concert for one of Rebuilt Records artists (if you haven't heard of Rebuilt Records..check them out. They're awesome!). We had a great time getting to see them, even though it was way too short of a visit.

Emma had a great time playing and dancing with Jana and Jason's little girl, Molly. I think the two of them had the most fun of anyone at the concert. Can't believe that Molly is almost 2 years old, and we are just now meeting her. It seems that time just flies by when you have kids.

It was so good to catch up with old friends...and we will definitely not let 2 years go by again!

Happy 4th!

Ran the Peachtree, played at the park, watched the fireworks...Happy 4th!
